Department of Music

The Department of Music strives to prepare its graduates for a career in worship leading, public/private school teaching, performance, and graduate music school preparation. Located in a metropolitan area, students are exposed to an array of musical experiences and training opportunities which allow for development in their specific area of interest.

Classes are taught by full-time faculty who serve, or have served, as practioners in the area of church music and music education. The faculty members are engaged in music performance within and outside the university.

* A program leading to teacher certification is available in these fields. Changes in endorsement requirements at the Tennessee State Department of Education level may require changes in published TNU programs in teacher education.

Trevecca Nazarene University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
Auditions for all ensembles will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 and Friday, June 13 from 11:00 to 1:00.  A sign-up sheet will be available beginning Thursday, June 12 in the lobby of the Wakefield Fine Arts building.
